Fourth of July

This year I had it off from work, but Peter still had to go to work. However, he ended up going in for an hour and then they let him go for green-time (basically he still go paid, but got to come home early). We were going to bar-b-que, but decided against it because the upstairs neighbors were having a bunch of people over and using the backyard. Plus it was super hot! Instead we took a walk with the dogs down to the Greenbelt where they were having a big Fourth of July celebration and had a band and a bunch of booths and such set up. After the walk down there and around for a while we were hot and tired so we ended up coming home and just getting some pizza. Then we just hung around the house with the fans running trying to keep cool until the big fireworks show at 10pm. Luckily we live right down the street from where they do the show and were able to just go and sit on our side yard. We took a few chairs and a small table out side and played some cards while waiting for the show to start. However, the show ended up being delayed for an hour... but it was still a great show and I love being able to see fireworks without having to spend the money. We did get some sparklers! I love the ones they have here because they are the metal ones so they are so much better than the ones they have in CA.

Basically where they do the fireworks is down by the Greenbelt (which is a trail that they have going around the snake river that's supposed to be a real touristy spot). Well the snake river is extremely unsafe and no one is supposed to go swimming. Apparently some people in the late 20's decided it would be a good idea to swim to an island in the middle of the lake to watch the fireworks. However, two came up and one didn't so that's what the delay was about. They had search and rescue searching for over an hour trying to find the young man, but no such luck so they went on and did the fireworks, which makes sense because they had A LOT of people there, some people travel from Utah and Wyoming . Then went back to searching for him and ended up finding him at about 1 am...unfortunately he didn't survive.

Besides that though it was a pretty good day. Here are a few pictures ... unfortunately Peter had the camera so I forgot to steal it and get atleast one picture of him lol

Chalkboard

So we had found this old chalkboard at DI and we bought a can of the chalkboard spray paint to redo it. That's the one I have been using and it has worked pretty well, but it wasn't that great quality. Then last week peter found an old vanity next to the dumpster and thought it would make a perfect chalk board (plus its over double the size). Peter sanded it down and we repainted the boarder. Then we got a can of chalkboard paint (rather than spray paint) so we could paint the layer on a little thicker. It turned out really well! I'm very pleased and excited to have a big chalkboard, plus it will be awesome for our soon-to-be little boy when he gets older.

I just have to decide how to decorate the boarder. We want it to be for our son, so we want it to be a kid-ish design. I'm thinking about cutting out stuff from the cricut and then using mod podge to glue them around the boarder. So far I'm trying to decide between zoo animals or dinosaurs. I want it to look cute, but not be too much. Also once we decide on a name (so I'll probably wait til after he is born) I want to maybe put his name across the top or bottom.

20 Week Ultrasound - Boy or Girl?

On May 15th we went in for the 20 week ultrasound where we found out if we were having a boy or a girl! We were pretty surprised when she said it was a boy because we were expecting a girl and had only thought of girl names haha. But we are super excited and can't wait for our little boy to be here, better start thinking of names(: I know it may seem like a little much posting the video on here, but I wanted to be able to share it with those who wanted to watch and also have it as another back-up in-case something happens to the original. The two ladies you here in the video are the doctors. Its funny because in the beginning she says to ignore when she says 'he' because that is just what she says, but it worked out!(:

New!!

So the car problems started again... apparently I inherited the family car curse (thanks dad..haha). We thought we were getting such a good deal when we bought the Malibu and it was supposed to be a good car, until we found out it didn't have the original engine in it. So we were driving down the highway and it started to make some weird sounds and then slowly started dying on us. We were able to get it to the side of the road and then luckily we have some amazing friends who drove out to help us. Dalton came and got us and drove us to come get the Bronco to tow the car over to the shop. We get it to the shop and Dalton(who is a mechanic) takes a look at it and after figuring out what was wrong with it we decide it is not worth it to try and fix it because we have already put some money into it and we weren't even sure if that was the only problem with it. So basically it was time to search again.

This time we decided to skip craigslist and try out a dealer where we could get a warranty. So we were searching online and found a 2009 Aveo certified pre-owned  at a dealer in Pocatello. It's Peter's perfect car because it is red and a hatchback (which he loves lol) However, we didn't want to make the hour drive if we couldn't even get approved for a loan we could afford. So we called them up and got approved over the phone and then the next day Dalton drove us down to Pocatello to test drive and get the car.

So far I am really happy with the choice we made to get a car with a warranty and I really love our new car, plus the gas mileage is pretty awesome! When we bought the car there was a light on for the tire pressure sensors and when we asked them about it they said it was probably because they just put new tires on. So we waited a few days and when it didn't turn off we took it into the Chevy dealer and had them check it out. Apparently when they put the new tires in they forgot to put the sensors in. All I have to say is I am thankful for the warranty(:

I CANT WAIT

We had our monthly check-up yesterday and got to hear the heartbeat again just to make sure that everything is still going well. But the most exciting part was that we made the appointment for when we find out if we are having a boy or a girl! May 15th!(: I'm so excited and cant wait to find out. Peter is pretty sure that it is going to be a girl and we like the name Lily or Emily for a girl. Haven't come up with anything for a boy though.

I have been really lucky and haven't gotten too sick and what little nausea I had has already passed.  I have had quite a bit of back pain lately though and my feet kill after being at work all day. I think it's time to get some new shoes that have some better support because mine are getting pretty worn down. Oh but I did get some maternity jeans at DI for $1(:

In other news I finished another semester of school and have this week off then I get to go back and this semester I get to take photography! I'm pretty excited about learning more and being able to use my new fancy camera haha.

Another Addition to our Family(:

The Ultrasound from our first appointment at 8 weeks(:

I have just started this wonderful experience and I am so excited! So far I have been lucky and haven't had too much morning sickness and now that I am entering the Second Trimester I am starting to feel more energized and am getting more and more excited and scared everyday.
